My name is Billy Jay Gabriel and I am 28 years old. I work as a Custodian in Entech Philippines Inc. for 3 years now. I have a wife and a 3-year old son who are currently in Cebu. Being away from your loved ones during this pandemic is really hard. There are other unavoidable factors that make our situation harder. There is fear, anxiety and distress. Most of the time I get anxious of not being with my family during this time. Everyone is going through a difficult time because of this health crisis. I remember there was even a time that I was using my bicycle to go to work because there was no public transportation available during the ECQ. But despite the crisis, I am beyond grateful for my company who has been helping me throughout this pandemic. I was able to keep my job and because of this, I am able to provide the things that my family needs.

Being the head of the family is a huge responsibility. You have to provide for their needs and at the same time, you need to serve as their protection. But how can I protect them if I am away? I think that is the one thing that I needed to sacrifice in order for us to survive. We have been affected by this pandemic but in God’s grace, we are still here and I am thankful for that. It was not easy to make financial adjustments but with the help of Access and my company, I can say that get through this crisis.

- Billy Jay Gabriel,
Custodian, ENTECH Philippines Inc.
